It has revolutionized the shoe market with its creative designs amalgamated with years of experience. Today, Steve Madden designs and markets shoes, clothes, and fashion accessories and handbags for women, men, and children in over 80 countries worldwide. The company's brands include Steve Madden, Steven by Steve Madden, Madden Girl, MADDEN, Freebird by Steven, Stevies, Betsey Johnson, Betseyville, Report Signature, Report, Big Buddha, Wild Pair, Cejon, Jocelyn, Mad Love, and BB Dakota.

The Challenge

 

The franchise of Steve Madden Malaysia was owned by the Valiram Group, which has an online store for Steve Madden on its own website. Over time, as the traffic on the Steve Madden eCommerce platform increased, it impacted the high performance and speed of the Valiram Group website. As superior website speed is a priority for competitive customer experiences, the Group felt the urgency to launch a standalone Steve Madden Malaysia website to improve online sales and grow their customer base in the region. Moreover, the client wanted this Steve Madden MY online store to be a customized and personalized version of the Steve Madden Australia eCommerce platform along with a few localized third-party integrations to fulfill their digital transformation goals.  

THE GOAL

 

The primary objective of this project was to develop, manage, and scale an user-centric eCommerce store for Steve Madden Malaysia. As building and transforming the online presence of Steve Madden in Malaysia was the key goal, our experts leveraged the Shopify Plus platform for the same. As the group wanted this online platform to be similar to the brand’s Australian store, our team implemented the theme file code from the AU store and customized it as per client needs. 

Moreover, the group wished to implement all the modern and differentiating features and functionalities such as AI-enabled search, automated email marketing, stock and inventory related updates, order status, and so on to this Steve Madden MY store. The client also wanted the home page banners to include both images and videos via banner slideshow. Other imperative implementations were 

  • automated discount tags on products
  • installation and customization of Klaviyo for running email marketing campaigns
  • integrating with Yotpo for social reviews, loyalty, referrals, SMS marketing, and visual marketing
  • size chart on product detail pages customized for different product categories

The Result

Our team developed a scalable and flexible eCommerce website for Steve Madden Malaysia, customized for brand themes and guidelines. We also fulfilled all the customization needs as demanded by the client, including automated discount tags on relatable products, Klaviyo integration with the website, Yotpo integration for customer reviews, and category-wise size charts on product detail pages.

Back in Stock: Customer Alerts to notify users about the re-availability of requested products.

Bold Store Locator to allow users browse the nearest Steve Madden stores.

Bulk Product Edit to allow order and inventory management teams to bulk edit products/variants like price, tags, inventory, title, description, vendor, SKU, channels in a few clicks.

Instafeed to allow the client to showcase their Instagram content on their online store to assist with social proofing efforts.

Order Printer to print invoices, labels, receipts, packing slips, etc.

OrderlyEmails to customize email designs to match brand look and feel.

Fast Simon to enable AI search for product filtering and fast search.

Selly to seamlessly offer flexible discounts like BOGO, free gifts, free shipping, etc. and assist with cross-selling and upselling opportunities.

Wishlist Plus allow users to wishlist items without having to log in and boost traffic and sales by running personalized email and social campaigns.

Today, Steve Madden Malaysia has a user-friendly and scalable eCommerce website that caters to the specialized needs of their customers, offers them personalized experiences, and accomplishes its digital transformation goals.
