The Challenge

Eu Yan Sang has been leveraging the Salesforce Commerce Cloud platform for its global customers for a long time. Eu Yan Sang employed the SFCC digital solution built on SiteGenesis pipelines and controllers architecture known to deliver personalized experiences faster and at scale. However, as its user demand grew dynamically and key market trends heavily influenced buying behavior, Eu Yan Sang wanted to improve their overall site performance, embrace leading innovation in the Storefront Reference Architecture (SFRA) to deliver inventive eCommerce features and functionalities, accelerate its eCommerce maturity, and develop a scalable architecture.

Moreover, Eu Yan Sang wanted to leverage the consistent and enriching technical support of certified Salesforce experts in Storefront Reference Architecture to improve its overall agility and security, implement new releases and upgrades quickly and seamlessly, and offer superior site experiences to its shoppers. Owing to such modern and dynamic exigencies, Eu Yan Sang decided to migrate from SiteGenesis architecture to the innovative and latest Storefront Reference Architecture (SFRA) from Salesforce.

THE GOAL

Eu Yan Sang wanted to migrate to the leading Salesforce Storefront Reference Architecture (SFRA) and bring about innovation in its eCommerce capabilities. This new SFCC site was to include all the features, custom functionalities, and third-party integrations as its SiteGenesis predecessor. The Eu Yan Sang SiteGenesis website catered to MY, SG and INT customers via three SFCC SiteGenesis website versions. And the same hierarchy was to be followed for the Eu Yan Sang SFRA website.

Some features and functionalities were integrated to respective country sites to deliver localized user experiences, customized as per audience groups and preferences. Apart from migrating the Eu Yan Sang eCommerce site, our team assisted in leveraging the competitive SFRA features for high-value capabilities and features and built a resilient avant-garde eCommerce platform.

The Result

Our Salesforce B2C Commerce Cloud team rebuilt their multi-location website (Malaysia, Singapore, and International) on the Salesforce Storefront Reference Architecture (SFRA) keeping all the UI functionalities, features, third-party integrations, and enhancements intact. We also migrated their custom REST APIs for mobile apps in SFRA.

As the frontend features were different for all locations, MY, SG and INT, in efforts to offer localized and personalized experiences to shoppers, few integrations and implementations were customized for all these sites. For example:

  • BazaarVoice was integrated to the MY and SG website to boost shopper engagement, drive revenue, and build customer loyalty with user-generated reviews and ratings.
  • GetResponse was integrated to the MY site, Marketing Cloud was integrated into the SG site, and Dotdigital was integrated to the INT website to empower the Eu Yan Sang team in building and managing personalized customer journeys through automated email marketing activities, and offering cross-channel messaging solutions for superior customer experiences.
  • For providing superior and localized payment experiences keeping in mind the popular payment solutions in each geographies, iPay88 payment gateway was integrated to MY site, multiple payment gateways part of Stripe and PayPal were integrated to SG site, and PayPal was integrated to INT site.
  • Google Analytics 4 was integrated to all MY, SG and INT sites to allow the Eu Yan Sang team track shopping activities on their website, gain specific insights into best-selling products, analyze data, revenue and products that gain the most traction, and ultimately lead to higher sales.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP was integrated to the MY and SG website to assist with automated and optimized order processing and fulfillment, manage the entire order lifecycle under a single dashboard, and lead to improved customer experiences.
  • Zendesk script was used in MY and SG sites to assist with customer service, allowing their support teams to drive connected conversations with shoppers across channels, and deliver personalized customer solutions.

The overall migration of its Salesforce B2C Commerce Cloud solution resulted in significantly improved user experiences, evolved their eCommerce architecture, and invoked modern competencies for improved performance. Moreover, as rich developer support is available for Salesforce SFRA, Eu Yan Sang can now implement new functionalities and keep up with the evolving market, customer, and competitor trends.
